Brahmas make it a perfect 10-0-0 with win over Sabercats.

WEST ROXBURY – The end is drawing near and thus far this season, the Girls U14 division has belonged to the Boston Brahmas. All opponents have who have confronted them have failed.

Most recently on that list was the South Shore Sabercats (4-4-1), who fell to the undefeated Brahmas (10-0-0) 7-1 on Sunday at Jim Roche Arena in West Roxbury.

The Sabercats had come closer than anyone to taking down the Brahmas when the two side’s first met, playing to a 2-1 decision in Plymouth on June 26. They looked to improve on that early on Sunday, Caleigh Tompkins putting South Shore up 1-0 just 1:16 into the contest. In the end, however, the Sabercats would not be as fortunate as they were a month prior.

South Shore’s lead was gone by period’s end, scores coming from Maggie Curran and Avalon Morris to put the Brahmas up 2-1. Things got even worse in the second as it was there the Brahmas offense did the bulk of their work. Four times Boston put goals on the scoreboard in the middle frame. Kate Rogers, a pair for Allison McDonough and Sarah Young accounted for Boston’s scoring as they opened a 6-1 advantage on their guests.

Up five, the Brahmas added one more in the third to cement their victory, McDonough completing the 7-1 score and her hat trick to finish tied with Rogers (1G, 2A) atop the game’s leader board with three points.

Curran (1G, 1A), Anna McGrath (2A), Keely Kasputis (2A) and Alexandra Martin (2A) all finished right behind, credited with two points apiece.
