Hawks post second straight, blank Raiders.

RAYNHAM – It was a slow start to the season for the Squirt Norfolk County Hawks (2-3-0), dropping their first three contests. Fresh off their first win of the season the weekend before, the Hawks are warming with the weather as they made it two in a row on Sunday, blanking the Squirt Raynham Raiders (0-5-0) 10-0 at the Raynham IcePlex.

The Hawks came out strong, amassing a 2-0 lead just past the midpoint of the first period on goals by CJ Kivlehan and Matt Davenport, but the Raiders stayed close with their foes, keeping their deficit a manageable one heading into the second period.

While they controlled in the first, the Hawks found a better groove in the second as their offense took off in the middle 15. Six times in the frame they found the back of the net, Shane Bellville leading the assault with two goals and an assist in the period.

Their margin was a comfortable one as the game moved to the third, but the Hawks tacked on two more for good measure in the final period, cementing the 10-0 win.

In total, eight different Hawks had their name etched onto the score sheet by game’s end, half of whom were credited with three-point contests. Davenport (3G), Bellville (2G, 1A), Logan Krupski (2G, 1A) and Kivlehan (1G, 2A) all tied for the game’s lead in scoring.

Rylee Childress handled the duties in net for Norfolk County, posting his first shutout of the season.
