NEFS returns for eighth season with tryouts beginning in January.

Entering its eighth season, the New England Future Stars continues to develop into one of the state’s premier leagues for youth hockey players to sharpen and hone their game throughout the spring/summer months. Now with 52 teams across six age divisions (Squirt through high school) and teams at 10 locations across Massachusetts, the Future Stars program continues to offer a high level of competition, professional coaching and an atmosphere geared towards skill development by combining game play with weekly practices, while keeping a consistent schedule that allows players, coaches and families plenty of flexibility throughout the offseason.

New for 2015, following the success of league’s first ever girls only division last season, the Future Stars will be adding a Girls Varsity Division to the mix. To go along with the Girls U14 Division, the newest addition to the NEFS program is a six-team Girls Varsity Division for high school aged players (born after 12/31/1996); teams playing out of Plymouth, Taunton, Marlboro, Revere, Natick and West Roxbury.

Tryouts for the 2015 season will begin in late January for most Squirt, Peewee and Bantam teams with the Girls U14 tryouts starting in late February. The Varsity and Girls Varsity evaluations are scheduled for the conclusion of the high school season in late March. (Dates and times will vary by location and team.) Registration for all tryouts opens in early November.
